Born to be free

Here I am, with a brand-new horse (who could have guessed?)

It took me a couple of weeks to finish - not that I was so slow with drawing and colouring it, but real life didn't leave me much free time

This picture was meant from the very beginning as a Birthday present for my friend. And I really gave it to her yesterday! She was happy! She said she saw me in her dreams looking at her patiently Here's my friend with her present

A special 'thank you' goes to for her super-mega-wonderful tutorial which I meant to use for almost a year, but managed to do it only a month ago. Well, I will add a WIP later, so you will see that I didn't actually use this tutorial exactly as I was supposed to. For example, I always colour starting with the head and go down; then I didn't use one brush, but several (couldn't help doing that as there are so many wonderful brushes in PS). There's not much left from a tutorial you can say, but beside these peculiarities, I followed the tutorial step by step.

P.S. This horse resembles me the character 'Spirit' from a cartoon though it occurred to me only when I finished painting, so this character wasn't the reference. But the title is very close to the idea of the cartoon.
