Description

Finally! A giftart for lovely :iconcopperdragonart:!
When in July I passed all exams with top marks, I offered to draw 5 giftarts to whoever wanted a horse from me. ~CopperdragonArt was the first and the only person to ask for it and here it is!

~CopperdragonArt wanted me to draw her OC Prophecy [link] She wrote: "Prophecy is energetic, but has quiet moments as well. He is the lead stallion of a horse herd. Feel free to do whatever you like with the picture. I would really like to be surprised by how you interpret him".
I spent days and nights thinking of a suitable setting, but the words "the lead stallion of a horse herd" were the key words for me. And what do the leaders do most of the time? Right! They protect their herds!

I chose the cliff of a mountain to make the scene more dramatic. I spent endless hours on Prophecy, especially on his coat. It's palomino, right? I drew and redrew the coat until I understood that the colour you see was the best I could do about it.
His nameless enemy stallion isn't my OC. He took me a couple of hours, he doesn't have a name and I didn't use anybody's OC for it, so if he looks like somebody else's OC - that is a mere coincidence.

The background took me almost as long to finish as Prophecy...I used brushes for the mountains and for the leaves.

I hope you like the whole picture, dear :iconcopperdragonart:, sorry for a long time it took me to finish it, it's a shame. Feel free to ask for more, it was a real pleasure to draw your stallion, but be ready to wait...
P.S. I left a "download" option for you, so you can download this picture and submit it in your account!
Prophecy - (c) to ~CopperdragonArt
the nameless stallion is (c) to no one)))) and I just wanted him to be rather dark to be in contrast with Prophecy.

EDIT: I changed the cliff - made the texture more obvious and changed the colour. Then I changed the leaves of the trees and the sky: added clouds. I polished both horses and some minor stuff. I hope the whole picture looks better now.

It really looks like one horse is about to push another off the cliff... Nice whading on the horses, but why aren't there any shadows on the ground?
